Melinda has been sewing since she was a young girl. She worked in the interior design field for 15 years as a fabric and wallpaper designer. Since moving to the Sacramento area in 1996, Melinda has been involved in quilting and wearable arts, winning numerous awards in both areas. She has written 2 books on herFabulous Fusible Flowerstechnique,Cutting Garden QuiltsandCandy Cane Lane. Her quilt, “And Our Flag Was Still There” is included in the National Quilt Museum quilt collection in Paducah, KY.

2-3 yards Steam-A-Seam 2 (12″ or 18″ wide)

Sharpiefine tip marker

Teflon pressing sheet to fit the size of the finished quilt or Parchment paper

1/2 yd print fabric for outer border

(3) 1/4 yd for your leaves,

Dark browns or dark purple for the center of the sunflower (see pattern and color chart)

​Take a humorous look through the eyes of a quilt artist as she finds her way through the world of art, quilting and wearable arts. Melinda shows the evolution of her art with humor and lots of inspiration. Includes a PowerPoint presentation with live quilts and wearable art.
