“Do Good” Opportunities

  • Donation Opportunity
In May there is a ceremony honoring the sacrifices of firefighters in North Carolina (True Heros!). You can donate a quilt to a family.

Quilts can be mailed to Sunshine Courage Quilts, 200 N. King St., Morganton, NC 28655. We collect quilts throughout the year and distribute in May at the state ceremony for fallen firefighters. Our quilts are usually 50 x 70. We are able to provide fabric if folks need it.

Or, contact me, Guild member Greg Woods and I will deliver.

Do You Have Quilts and Quilting Materials That You No Longer Use? Show your support for quilting by donating your items to The National Quilt Museum. For over five years, The National Quilt Museum has had a program called “Quilts for Quilting.” The program is a fundraiser for the Museum and an opportunity for all quilters to pay it forward simply by donating quilts and other items. The Museum holds several live, silent, and online benefit auctions throughout the year. The items available in the auctions are donated to the Museum by quilters and companies that care about the sustainability and growth of quilting.

Send quilts to: National Quilt Museum, 215 Jefferson Street, Paducah, KY 42001. Please write “Attn: Q for Q” on the box. Please include your name, address, and contact information so that we may send you a receipt. lf you have any questions about this program please contact: Lori Robbins 270-442-8856 ext 207.
