National Quilting Day Festivities
March 15, 2008

AQG will give a quilt to every baby born on March 15 in Mission Hospital System.
AQG donated a quilt to a new home owner in habitat For Humanity

Quilt In A Box Project for K-12
This is an outreach project to bring the fun, art and history of quilting to young people in our community.

Super Saturday Class - Fall 2007, Spring 2008
AQG offers a quilting class in the UNCA Super Saturday Program. Super Saturday, a program for children identified as Gifted and Talented, is offered each fall and spring for 6 week sessions. Innovative and unique learning opportunities offer these young people a chance to learn outside the box and challenge themselves.

National Quilting Day Festivities
March 17, 2007

Eight AQG quilts were hung in the Asheville City Hall.
AQG had quilts hanging in all 12 Buncombe County libraries.
AQG gave a quilt to every baby born on March 17 (ten!!) in Mission Hospital System.
AQG donated a quilt to the Buncombe Couty Commissioners for display in a prominent place.

March 17 was proclaimed "National Quilting Day" by Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy.

Holiday 2007 Holiday Luncheon
Donated $1260 to Meals On Wheels from raffle baskets and Pennies from Heaven collection.

SPRING 2003       9/11 Bravest Fund Quilts
AQG members constructed 40 Bravest Fund Quilts from kits
provided by Cranston Village.
These quilts will be donated to firehouses
in the five boroughs of NYC
for permanent display.
A total of 250 kits are being constructed by various guilds.

WCU Traveling SCHOOL QUILT BOX Project
AQG donated its $500 host award from the NCQSI as well as a matching amount from the guild.
This project brings awareness of mountain heritage and quilting to schools in the region.
